Our Restorative Dentistry Services Include:
Dental Implants
If you are missing one tooth, or more multiple teeth, then dental implants will often be the very best long-term tooth replacement solution for you. Each person and each mouth is different, but dental implants are a great tooth replacement choice due to their long-term strength, durability, and overall appearance. Implants may not be the right option for everyone, but they do offer many benefits that other competing restorative dentistry options do not.
Dental implants consist of a titanium post that serves as an artificial tooth root. The implant is surgically placed in your jawbone under the gum line. Once placed, the implant is permanent and cannot be removed like dentures. Once healed, a tooth-shaped cap known as a “crown” is placed on the post, creating an authentic looking, feeling, and acting, tooth.
Dental Crowns
Another type of restorative dentistry service we offer are dental crowns. Crowns are required in a number of situations, including if your tooth breaks, becomes weak, or a large amount of decay present. A crown is a type of “cap” used to restore your tooth to its normal size and shape. Discuss your options with your dentist to find out if dental crowns are the best for you.
Root Canal Therapy
In severe situations, the plaque that results in tooth decay can eat through the enamel that forms the exterior layer of your tooth. If the plaque begins to attach the soft, inner portion of your tooth, called the pulp of the tooth, it can become extremely painful. Symptoms of this include sensitivity when consuming cold or hot substances, pain while you are eating, and sore gums near the affected tooth. If the issue goes on untreated, it can lead to extreme cases of pain, swelling, and even infection.
During a root canal, your dentist will remove the pulp (nerve) from the inside of the infected tooth. Once removed, the interior chamber is cleaned, shaped, and then sealed. The entire process is typically painless due to local anesthetics.
Dentures
If you prefer not to replace your missing tooth with a dental implant, or if the dentist informs you that you aren’t a good candidate for implants, then you may be considering dentures inside. Dentures are available in full and partial sets, depending on your particular needs. Unlike dental implants, dentures can be removed for cleaning as needed.
Thanks to modern technology, today’s dentures fit and feel better than the ones you may have heard about in the past. They are still a popular option and can help you restore your smile to its former beauty.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
If you have teeth that are badly worn, you may think all hope is lost. However, that is probably not the case. At 1st Family Dental, we can restore worn teeth back to their normal look and shape while also restoring your beautiful smile. The full mouth restoration process begins with an initial consultation with your dentist, which is provided free of charge.
